"Power" drama during open-air ministry
by Erin

ANTIGUA GUATEMALA: We are happy to be here, serving and learning as a team.  We are adjusting well to the new culture and look forward to celebrating the holiday season here in Guatemala!

Our first two weeks here in Antigua were full of trips to town to love people.  We had many opportunities to work in pairs or small groups walking around the city to talk with people and pray for them.  Mette, a teammate from Denmark, found a Guatemalan man who spoke Danish, so she enjoyed conversing with him.  Our teammates, Lisa and Clara, speak Spanish and are so helpful on these outings – their ability to interpret and translate is a huge blessing.  Being in town with Joy and her 11-month-old son, Elijah, is also wonderful because Elijah attracts attention!

We regularly have the privilege of facilitating Kids’ Club meetings here at the YWAM Antigua base.  So far we put together several programs for the meetings, which usually last 1.5 hours.  We all enjoy singing and dancing with the kids.  Our team led two Monday night church services that are held in English.  These are great opportunities for our team members to share testimonies and preach because we have no language barrier.

As we discover what the next few weeks hold for us, we will keep you updated!  Thank you for praying for us.  Your prayer is the fuel that keeps us going.  Please continue praying for good health and for safety.  Pray also that our team operates from a place of peace and unity; and pray for the people and nation of Guatemala.

Adios,
The Chico Team
