Labasa, Fiji

Our time in Fiji is now coming to a close as we started our 8th week on Monday. It is a bittersweet feeling for us as this is our last week, we have really grown to love this country, but are happy and excited to see what God has in store for us next when returning home back to America.

Our last week of ministry was spent in a village called Dreketi where we got to stay in the home of a family who blessed us in many ways. They were such a sweet family, we really felt at home and all enjoyed staying with them during that time. The second day there we were able to introduce ourselves and perform the dance “We Speak To Nations” at the church the family attended. Later some of us attended the afternoon service where they did the dance “God is Good.” Monday-Friday we got to lead a youth camp for the youth nearby. And since the family’s home was across the river, we got to take a boat back and forth everyday in order to go anywhere. (We also got to swim in the river just about everyday whether it was our choice or by the family pulling us in.) Our theme of the camp was a “Mini DTS” (Discipleship Training School). We got to plan the whole thing with teachings, games, sports, team building activities, discussion groups, worship, soaking times, pretty much everything you do in a DTS. We also got to do another Purity talk for the girls and boys. I know this was a blessed time for us and the youth and they were all sad that it was over and to see us go.
Saturday, the family took us out to an island for the whole day where all we did was swim, eat, play volleyball and just spend time with one another. And our last day concluded with visiting a different church where we got to lead the service. Our team did the drama “Set the captives free”, Cori gave a testimony on her time here in Fiji, we did the drama “Masks”, Michael Tully gave his chapel talk, the girls did their dance called “Your Name” and Brad taught the sermon. I’d say that spending our last week of ministry in Dreketi was the perfect way to end it. Thank you Jesus for this wonderful and blessed time!

Please be praying for our team as we will be debriefing and traveling all this week. Thank you so much for reading and I will see you all next week in America!
